Yes! Every semester the ESA creates a course assessment survey and the departments helps pass these out to each class.

Currently, the course assessments are in a binder in the lounge. This paper copy may be the only complete record of these assessments.

The CUNY Academic Commons allows all GC students to create websites, blogs, profiles and groups. It's purpose is to facilitate scholarly networks. The MLA just unveiled a version of the Commons. Take a look at the CUNY Academic Commons at http://commons.gc.cuny.edu

Yes, your Commons Profile and your ESA profile are different. The ESA profile is featured only on the ESA page, connects only with other English Program students and includes English program specific fields. For example, if you are browsing your profile or another student's, if you click on that student's affiliated school you will be brought to a list of students who are also affiliated with that school. The same is true for research interests.

What grade would you give the GC English Program's Website (GC.cuny.edu/English) in terms of the information it provides to potential applicants about our community, including faculty interests/activities, student work/accomplishments, financial aid, events, course offerings, alumni news, and relevant program statistics?*

Grading Rubric
A - I am confident that prospective students find the website appealing and easily navigable. Based on it they can make an informed decision to create a strong application and apply.

B - I think prospective students can navigate the website. Based on it they can make an informed decision to create a strong application and apply.

C - I worry that prospective students cannot easily navigate the site and find all the information they need to make an informed decision to create a strong application and apply.

D - I think that prospective students are discouraged from applying because of the difficulty navigating the site and lack the information needed to create a strong application and apply.

F - I am deeply concerned that the GC English Program's official website is misrepresenting our program to prospective students.

Since you graded the Program website as needing improvement, what suggestions do you have?

What general suggestions do you have for the ESA website committee regarding how the ESA communicates to students about important issues?

Feel free to include suggestions for social media platforms that might be engaged to better serve ESA communication; ideas about how faculty and students communicate; how the department communicates; or how the department/ESA communicate with potential applicants to the program.
