Seven weeks ago, after QCC administration threatened retaliation on the QCC English program for a faculty vote on Pathways, the GC English Students Association adopted a resolution affirming the principle of faculty governance. This week, the QCC President has taken specific action to dismantle faculty governance at QCC, refusing to recognize the faculty-elected chair, imposing her choice on the department, and channeling all promotion and tenure recommendations through Karen Steele, the author of September’s outrageous threats.
