Two CUNY projects nominated for DH Awards

Two CUNY projects that have been nominated for DH Awards. From the official site: “Digital Humanities Awards are a new set of annual awards given in recognition of talent and expertise in the digital humanities community and are nominated and voted for entirely by the public. These awards are intended to help put interesting DH resources in the spotlight and engage DH users (and general public) in the work of the community. Awards are not specific to geography, language, conference, organization or field of humanities that they benefit.”

The very successful  Commons in a Box, which is directed by  Matt Gold, is up for “Best DH Tool.” The Commons in a Box (@cbox) is the adaptable platform based on the success of the CUNY Academic Common, which you are looking at right now. The Cbox team is CUNY based, and their nomination is a wonderful representation of the innovative work being done at CUNY. Also, the mulitmodal article Digital Literary Pedagogy, co-written by Amanda Licastro (English Program, Graduate Center), Roger Whitson (Washington State Universtiy),  and Kimon Keramidas (Bard Graduate Center) for the Journal of Interactive Technology and Pedagogy (JITP, @JITPedagogy) is up for “Best Short Publication.” JITP is a CUNY-based publication with many students, faculty, and alumni from the Graduate Center on the editorial collective.
